Using Google Locator for Your Tax Preparation Business to Increase ...

You?ve successfully gotten your practice listed on the web, but where are you location wise?

Five minutes of your time could bring in countless returns, making it much easier to find your physical location, while giving you much higher results on web searches.

A great utility to help clients find you is a locator tool to place your business on Google Maps. The tools are free to use and will make it far easier to find your workplace when your people need to find you.

Follow the instructions below to get your business added to this important media tool:

First, you need to find a tool that will get you pinned onto Google Maps; go to www.google.com/places.? You?ll find two graphics here. The right graphic, ?Get your business found on Google?, is what you?re after. Click the ?Get started now? button. (Figure 1)

You?ll need a Google email, or gmail account, which is also free to set up at gmail.com.? Once you?ve got that, use your gmail ID and password to login. Once logged in, you?ll need to answer some basic questions regarding the location and phone number of your business.

You?ll most likely see a note stating your business is not found on Google Maps. You will proceed to enter your information. (Figure 2)

Complete all of the information.? You even have the option to submit photos, payment options your company provides, YouTube videos and more. ?Once all of your information in entered, click the ?Submit? button at the bottom of the page.

You?ll receive a confirmation notice that Google will contact you in a week or so, stating that you?ve been approved. (Figure 3)

So what good is all of this?? When someone ?Googles? your company name or business type, not only will your URL show up in the web search, but a map with your exact location will appear next to it!? Your people will find you when finding you matters most.

For example, now that you?ve completed the process you can type ?Tax preparation Kaysville UT? into a Google search browser.? The search will pull up a map to the right of your results. Click on the map and TaxWorks is listed, and shown, as one of the first results! (Figure 4)

Try it! Every tax professional wants the exposure the web brings. This is just one more tool to help clients and potential clients find your office!
